John A. Poppe

 
Mr. Poppe is primarily a trial lawyer.  His
principle areas of practice are family law
(including post-divorce custody cases),
criminal defense (including OVI - operating
under the influence), and estate planning
(including will contests).  Mr. Poppe has
tried cases in Auglaize, Allen and all
surrounding counties, many other parts of
Ohio, and in Indiana and Kentucky.

 Mr. Poppe has an agricultural
background with a Bachelor of Science
degree from The Ohio State University
College of Agriculture and a Juris
Doctorate Degree from Pettit College of
Law, Ohio Northern University.

 Mr. Poppe is married with eight children
and nine grandchildren.  Three of his
children practice law: Jill Poppe in
Minneapolis; and Kris Poppe and Jamie
Crisp with Poppe Law Office.


Jamie Crisp

 
Ms. Crisp joined Poppe Law Office upon
receiving a Juris Doctorate degree from
the Ohio Northern University Pettit College
of Law.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Colorado State University.
 
     While Ms. Crisp is a general
practitioner, her primary focus area are
domestic relations (including divorce,
dissolution, and post-decree custody
issues), juvenile law and misdemeanor
criminal defense.  She practices primarily
in Auglaize County, but also handles case
in Mercer, Allen, Shelby and the
surrounding counties.


Kris R. Poppe

 Mr. Poppe re-joined Poppe Law Office in
2003 after a nine-year stint with the U.S.
Army Judge-Advocate General's Corps.  
He is a 1993 graduate of Ohio Northern
University Petitt College of Law and has a
Bachelor of Arts from the Ohio State
University.  

 A former federal prosecutor, Mr. Poppe
has extensive trial experience in state and
federal courts.  He works primarily out of
our Lima office but handles cases in all the
surrounding counties.

 Mr. Poppe is a Major in the U.S. Army
Reserve and is an active duty U.S. Army
and U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  He is
married to Susie Poppe and has two
children, Lucas, age 13, and Katie, age 10


Elaine Poppe

Elaine Poppe is office manager for our firm.
She has dual Master Degrees and taught
English and Art for 25 years before retiring
from New Bremen School system.  During
that time, Elaine also worked as a feature
writer for the Wapakoneta Daily News and its
satellites covering politics and
entertainment.  In addition, she  worked for
WIMA as a broadcast journalist and wrote
restaurant reviews for Ohio Magazine for
several years. Elaine also creates the
cartoon figures that decorate our yard during
the Holidays.


Dawn Hendrixson-Ricker

 
Dawn graduated from Lima Technical
College (now Rhodes State College) in
1993 with an Associates Degree in Legal
Assisting Technology.  She has been
employed with Poppe Law Office as a
paralegal since 1992.  Dawn is married to
Todd Ricker and the have two sons, Logan
and Mason.










Kayla Curl

 
Kayla has been with Poppe Law Office
since 2001.  She is a graduate of
Wapakoneta High School and is currently
working towards a degree in Legal
Assisting Technology at Rhodes State
College.  She is engaged to be married to
Josh Hall in May, 2006.
